Meet Shale Albao, founder and perfumer of TADHANA Fragrances. Shale started with a strong technical footing: a background in chemical engineering and business. She then went on to train in the craft of perfumery in France through institutions such as ISIPCA and the International Perfume Foundation (IPF)

What really sets Albao apart is her purpose-driven vision: to reclaim the narrative of luxury fragrance from a Filipino/Asian lens. Her brand TADHANA is built on the belief that local ingredients, local memories and local stories deserve to stand alongside the great houses of Europe.

• Shale’s work with TADHANA became internationally visible when the brand exhibited at the famed Grasse Perfume Week in France — making it one of the first Filipino fragrance houses to appear on that platform.
• The brand emphasises uniquely Philippine raw materials like calamansi, dalandan, local vetiver, patchouli Filipina, and sampaguita — weaving them into scents that say “Philippines” but also meet global niche-fragrance standards.
